Enable GW to update the land model (NOAHMP) with ensemble and deterministic soil moisture and temperature increments in IAU mode . Current updates are done with a 6 hourly frequency. We want to do sub-hourly updates for land variables that have high temporal variability.
What are the requirements for the new functionality?
Read in GSI (and JEDI) increments
Re-grid increments to target/ native model grid
Apply updates as part of the land physics call
Acceptance Criteria
The updated soil fields match external test files
Suggest a solution (optional)
This brings land IAU work already in UFS WM to global workflow.
