I love the broad community support for fpm. The vibrant discussion around issue #363, which was posted about 5 months ago, makes me wonder whether a documented decision-making process could bring some finality to such great discussions. Is there some obvious way to tally votes? Are there regular phone calls during which decisions could be made in order to impose a natural timeline? One of the many impressive things about fpm is the speed with which the community embraced and (re)wrote it. I think fpm would benefit if someone could bring that same level of agility to deciding about submitted ideas.

Thanks Damian @rouson, I agree. At our last monthly meeting we discussed formalising the maintainer roles for all Fortran-lang projects and this will likely involve some leadership with regards to project decisions and future direction. Keep an eye out for a future update on this.
