Now that the WASI build of Python is finished, we should investigate its best uses. An initial brainstorm has resulted in the following ideas:

  • Runtime in the browser (full browser support)
  • Extension for users that don't have Python installed (lightweight version of the extension for prototyping on desktop)
  • Enabling writing whole Python extension in Python --> environment discovery
  • Better working with tools extensions

We need to do more customer discovery and benchmarking to discover the best and more realistic use cases.
