test/index.js - make errors easier to decode
I'm not sure that all the changes were introduced in v13.0.1 of node but that's what I was working with. And there may be other/better ways to fix some of the problems I ran into - let me know if so.
The changes to test helped make errors in the spawned tasks more visible.
