I'm not sure if this solves the problem, but I have built a browser extension that adds an "Open in VS Code" button to GitHub repositories. When a user clicks the button, if the repository is already present on their computer, it opens in VS Code. If not, the extension clones the repository and then opens it in VS Code. @hkirat |
