This pull request updates the CI workflow configuration in
.github/workflows/ci.ymlto ensure that the base branch of a pull request is properly checked out and available during CI runs. The changes consistently add commands to create a local branch for the PR's base branch from the remote, and conditionally check outmainonly when the base branch is notmain.
