Discuss Starter Kits: What Structure / Partials should be in the "core" starterkit vs our unique kits? #6

Description

@finteractive

With the default starter kit that's being worked on here https://github.com/drupal-pattern-lab/edition-php-twig-standard/ this comes with a pre-defined folder structure that is in my opinion confusing to Drupal folks as they both reserved terminology for Drupal themes/structures.

In Atomic Jargon

  • Templates are page-level objects that place components into a layout
  • Pages are specific instances of templates that show what a UI looks like with real representative content in place

My team has settled on
Layouts (=Atomic Templates) & Mockups (=Atomic Pages) as the equivalent folders. There's less confusion compared to the default folders.

Questions

  • Is the roadmap the right place to talk about what's in the core starterkit? Should I have posted this issue in some other place?
  • Are we trying to get consensus on this kind of thing into the core? Or should my own preferences listed above be in my own starter kits loaded after the core starterkit?
