This is another potential option to eliminate inconsistent behavior for #1445.
In this case, when performing an update where
partial=False
, if a field is omitted and does not have a default value, a validation error is raised. This causes some divergence in behavior between new and updated serializers, although it seems less disruptive to assumptions made in existing tests.
