Summary of Changes

Hello @ncooke3, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request performs a chore-level task by standardizing the naming of the "DatabaseExample" Xcode project. It removes the redundant "Swift" suffix from the project's target, scheme, and various internal references, resulting in a cleaner and more consistent project structure. This change simplifies project identification and management without altering any functional code.

Highlights

  • Project Target Renaming: The primary application target and its associated entities within the Xcode project have been renamed from "DatabaseExampleSwift" to "DatabaseExample".
  • Xcode Project File Updates: The "project.pbxproj" file was modified to reflect the new naming convention across various sections, including file references, groups, native targets, and build configuration lists.
  • Xcode Scheme File Renaming: The "DatabaseExampleSwift.xcscheme" file was renamed to "DatabaseExample.xcscheme", and all internal references within the scheme were updated to match the new project name.

Code Review

This pull request aims to rename the DatabaseExampleSwift target to DatabaseExample. The changes in the Xcode project and scheme files are a good start, but the refactoring is incomplete and will lead to build errors. I've left a couple of comments on project.pbxproj detailing the missing changes, which include updating the Swift bridging header build setting, renaming the corresponding file, and ensuring the source file directory is also renamed for consistency. Addressing these points will complete the renaming task and ensure the project remains buildable.

/* Begin PBXFileReference section */

100116CB1CDD16F100C9256E /* DatabaseExample-Bridging-Header.h */ = {isa = PBXFileReference; lastKnownFileType = sourcecode.c.h; path = "DatabaseExample-Bridging-Header.h"; sourceTree = "<group>"; };

critical

You've updated the file reference path for the bridging header, but this change is incomplete and will cause build failures for two reasons:

  1. The file DatabaseExampleSwift-Bridging-Header.h itself has not been renamed to DatabaseExample-Bridging-Header.h in this pull request. The project now references a file that doesn't exist.
  2. The SWIFT_OBJC_BRIDGING_HEADER build setting in this project file (on lines 574 and 598) still points to the old filename. It needs to be updated to DatabaseExample/DatabaseExample-Bridging-Header.h.

Please ensure you rename the file and update the build settings to match.

sourceTree = "<group>";
};

5F5A537A1ADE67D500F81DF0 /* DatabaseExample */ = {

While you've updated the Xcode group name to DatabaseExample, the path property for this group (on line 186) still points to the old directory name DatabaseExampleSwift. For consistency and to complete the refactoring, you should also rename the DatabaseExampleSwift directory to DatabaseExample and update the path property in this file accordingly.
