Two browser tabs open when I click a port's address

Bug description

When I click the "Address" of a port in the Ports view, it opens two browser tabs instead of one.

Steps to reproduce

1. Start a workspace for https://github.com/gitpod-io/website
2. Open the Ports view
3. Click on the "Website(3000)" port's Address URL

Workspace affected

All

Expected behavior

One browser tab opens.

I tried the following on google chrome:

• python -m http.server 3000
• And then click the 🌏 button on ports list to open a browser tab

But was unable to reproduce, could you please share us the logs when you notice this again 🙏 ?

Also tried on Firefox with https://github.com/gitpod-io/website r8n.

I tried again now and it doesn't happen. If only Gitpod publicly shared when releases happen and what exactly was deployed as part of it, the community could actually determine what may have fixed/broken stuff. Not your fault Asif of course, but @JohannesLandgraf could do something about it if he wanted to.

Hi @mikenikles, thanks for reporting this. This doesn't sound like a "cut and dry" bug. Our inability to reproduce the issue makes it difficult to prevent with QA as well. However, that is our challenge to work through to improve our ability to provide a consistent high quality experience all the time. We are trying improve everyday. But we definitely fall short sometimes.

I tried to reproduce this bug with https://github.com/goldsky-io/website but it 404's for me so I assume it's private.

If you see this issue again and could provide any additional details I would appreciate it. I know it takes a lot of time and energy and distraction from your flow to report issues like this. So thank you for investing that time!

Interesting, the plot thickens! What browser is that, brave?

I wasn't able to reproduce this in Chrome or Safari on a Mac but I was able to reproduce it on Arc. Here's a Loom of that:
