I've been using vim-sleuth, which enables smarttab and uses shiftwidth for the indentation width; softtabstop is set to -1. Support for this setup would be helpful!

I can add Vader tests in 1~2 weeks if desired.

@brentyi Thx. I don't use vim-slueth, but your PR does not break default behavior.
