Is there anyway to have the placeholder always visible?

Currently the placeholder shows when the input box in question doesn't have the focus, but as soon as it has the focus and you start typing, the placeholder disappears.

Yes, this is how html5's placeholder attribute works.

I tried setting a 'placeholder' HTML5 attribute on my input, but it just did the usual, the moment i started typing in the input box, the placeholder disappeared.

I want the opposite, i want the '/' in the date to always be there while you are typing.

Doesn't matter though, as much as i like this plugin, i found one that does exactly what i need so am using that for now.

That is what I meant with my previous message. We only implement the HTML5 placeholder so... You can't change it :)

It isn't maintained anymore, but I found it a bit more powerful.

These days though I use Cleave.JS, it doesn't support the fine-grain that others have, but it does what I want and has support for libphonenumber.
