It does happens with ClearCase (cleartool command line program) too. Never could get it to completely get all the history, even after 48-hours, so have been disabling it for now.

In general, the CC support needs to be improved to get more data on each request. I have some patches for it, but they need to be cleaned up.

It looks like this is not a problem anymore. I tried to replicate this with ON-like repository and I can only see 2 hg log commands being run which is correct - one for the main repo, one for the nested repo. Hence closing until someone comes with small reproducible test case.
