Stop using the skd and use the squid API directly, this give us more
control and access to all the data that returns squid (for example,
we now have access to the fees and don't have to recalculate them
ourselves)

Walkthrough

This update introduces comprehensive cross-chain payment and withdrawal support, including route expiry timers, improved error handling, and enhanced Peanut Wallet integration. It refactors transaction preparation to use a new Squid API-based routing service, adds new UI components for route timing, and standardizes direct USD payment flows. Multiple type and prop changes align interfaces with these new features.

🧹 Nitpick comments (6)
src/components/Global/RouteExpiryTimer/index.tsx (2)

117-125: Progress calculation assumes fixed duration - consider making configurable.

The hardcoded 1-minute duration (line 122) may not match actual route expiry times from different providers. Consider making this configurable or deriving it from the actual route data.

- // Assuming routes typically have 1-minute expiry (300 seconds)
- // This could be made configurable if needed
-        const totalDurationMs = 1 * 60 * 1000 // 1 minutes
+ // Use a configurable duration or derive from route data
+        const totalDurationMs = totalDurationMs || 1 * 60 * 1000 // Default 1 minute

140-146: Consider performance optimization for pulse animation logic.

The shouldPulse function is called on every render. Consider memoizing this calculation since it depends on stable values.

+const shouldPulse = useMemo((): boolean => {
     if (isLoading) return true
     if (!timeRemaining) return false
     const progressPercentage = getProgressPercentage()
     return (progressPercentage >= 85 || timeRemaining.totalMs <= nearExpiryThresholdMs) && timeRemaining.totalMs > 0
-}
+}, [isLoading, timeRemaining, nearExpiryThresholdMs])
src/components/Withdraw/views/Confirm.withdraw.view.tsx (1)

134-139: Inconsistent fee display format

The network fee display format is inconsistent with the Peanut fee format. Network fee doesn't include the $ prefix while Peanut fee does.

Apply this diff to make the fee display format consistent:

-                        value={networkFee}
+                        value={`$ ${networkFee}`}

Alternatively, if networkFee already includes the $ symbol, then update the Peanut fee to match:

-                    <PaymentInfoRow hideBottomBorder label="Peanut fee" value={`$ ${peanutFee}`} />
+                    <PaymentInfoRow hideBottomBorder label="Peanut fee" value={peanutFee} />
src/components/Payment/Views/Confirm.payment.view.tsx (2)

387-389: Remove console.log statement

Remove or replace the console.log with a proper logging mechanism:

-                        onTimerExpired={() => {
-                            console.log('Route expired')
-                        }}
+                        onTimerExpired={() => {
+ // Route expiry is handled by UI updates
+                        }}

418-433: Clarify complex conditional logic

The condition isCrossChainPayment !== isPeanutWallet might be confusing to readers. Consider making the intent more explicit.

Add a comment to clarify the logic or refactor for clarity:

-                    {isCrossChainPayment !== isPeanutWallet && (
+ {/* Show sending info when:
+                        - It's a cross-chain payment from external wallet
+                        - It's a same-chain payment from Peanut Wallet */}
+                    {(isCrossChainPayment && !isPeanutWallet) || (!isCrossChainPayment && isPeanutWallet) ? (

Or keep the current logic but add a clarifying comment:

+                    {/* Show when exactly one of these is true: cross-chain payment XOR Peanut Wallet */}
                     {isCrossChainPayment !== isPeanutWallet && (
src/hooks/usePaymentInitiator.ts (1)

651-659: Consider extracting complex conditional logic for better readability.

The multi-condition check works correctly but could be more maintainable as a helper function.

+const shouldTransitionToConfirmView = (
+  chargeCreated: boolean,
+  payload: InitiatePaymentPayload,
+  isPeanutWallet: boolean,
+  chargeDetails: TRequestChargeResponse
+) => {
+  if (!chargeCreated) return false;
+  if (payload.isPintaReq || payload.isAddMoneyFlow) return true;
+  if (!isPeanutWallet) return true;
+
+  // Peanut Wallet with non-USDC or cross-chain
+  return !areEvmAddressesEqual(chargeDetails.tokenAddress, PEANUT_WALLET_TOKEN) ||
+         chargeDetails.chainId !== PEANUT_WALLET_CHAIN.id.toString();
+};

 if (
-  chargeCreated &&
-  (payload.isPintaReq ||
-    payload.isAddMoneyFlow ||
-    !isPeanutWallet ||
-    (isPeanutWallet &&
-      (!areEvmAddressesEqual(determinedChargeDetails.tokenAddress, PEANUT_WALLET_TOKEN) ||
-        determinedChargeDetails.chainId !== PEANUT_WALLET_CHAIN.id.toString())))
+  shouldTransitionToConfirmView(chargeCreated, payload, isPeanutWallet, determinedChargeDetails)
 ) {

tailwind.config.js (1)

176-186: LGTM for the animation addition!

The new pulse-strong keyframe animation and corresponding animation utility are well-implemented and will provide enhanced visual feedback for UI components.

src/utils/index.ts (1)

6-6: LGTM!

The addition of token utilities export follows the existing pattern and will improve accessibility of token-related functions across the codebase.

src/app/[...recipient]/client.tsx (1)

394-394: LGTM! Improved prop naming for clarity.

The renaming from isDirectPay to isDirectUsdPayment enhances code readability and aligns with the standardized naming convention for direct USD payment flows.

Also applies to: 413-413

src/components/Payment/Views/Initial.payment.view.tsx (1)

11-11: LGTM! Consistent prop naming.

The prop renaming maintains consistency with other payment view components and improves code clarity.

src/components/Withdraw/views/Initial.withdraw.view.tsx (2)

16-16: LGTM! TokenSelector integration for cross-chain support.

The addition of TokenSelector with viewType="withdraw" enables cross-chain withdrawal functionality as intended in this PR.

Also applies to: 90-90

87-87: LGTM! Correct hardcoded token symbol for Peanut Wallet.

Setting the token symbol to "USDC" is correct for Peanut Wallet withdrawals, as it displays the amount being withdrawn from the Peanut Wallet (which holds USDC) regardless of the destination token selected by the user.

src/services/services.types.ts (1)

184-185: Confirm that the API response includes the new required fields

We verified that TRequestChargeResponse is only used to type the fetched payload (in chargesApi.get), Redux state, and Hooks—there are no manual constructions of this interface in the codebase. Please ensure that the backend /request-charges/{id} endpoint now returns both currencyCode and currencyAmount.

• File: src/services/charges.tsget method casts the raw response as TRequestChargeResponse
• No other code paths manually instantiate TRequestChargeResponse objects

src/app/actions/clients.ts (1)

20-29: LGTM - Caching removal aligns with fresh client requirements.

The removal of unstable_cache ensures fresh client instances are created for each call, which supports the new cross-chain routing functionality that requires up-to-date chain data. The core logic remains intact.

src/app/(mobile-ui)/withdraw/[country]/bank/page.tsx (3)

10-10: LGTM - Simplified imports align with new wallet abstraction.

The removal of transaction construction imports is appropriate since the new sendMoney function handles this internally.

29-29: LGTM - Using the new sendMoney abstraction.

Switching from sendTransactions to sendMoney aligns with the new wallet abstraction for token transfers.

132-132: LGTM - Simplified transaction handling.

The replacement of manual transaction encoding with the sendMoney call significantly simplifies the code while maintaining the same functionality. The function properly handles the ERC-20 transfer to the deposit address.

src/hooks/wallet/useWallet.ts (3)

6-6: LGTM - Added necessary constant import.

The PEANUT_WALLET_TOKEN_DECIMALS import is required for the new sendMoney function.

17-18: LGTM - Added necessary type and function imports.

The Address type and encodeFunctionData function imports are required for the new sendMoney implementation.

118-118: LGTM - Exposing the new sendMoney function.

The sendMoney function is properly exposed in the hook's return object.

src/components/Global/DirectSendQR/index.tsx (5)

99-100: LGTM! Improved messaging for cross-chain support.

The updated messaging correctly reflects the expanded cross-chain payment capabilities, moving away from the restrictive USDC-only language to encourage broader payment support.

107-107: Good improvement in checkbox label clarity.

The generic confirmation message is more appropriate for the diverse payment flows now supported.

255-255: Simplified ENS URL construction aligns with cross-chain approach.

Removing the fixed @arbitrum/usdc suffix for ENS names is consistent with the dynamic approach for other address types.

343-343: Modal title update reflects the broader payment scope.

The generic "Payment Confirmation" title is more appropriate than the chain-specific messaging.

227-244: Dynamic URL construction looks correct but verify EIP-681 parsing integration.

The refactored logic correctly uses the parseEip681 utility to extract chain ID, token symbol, and amount dynamically instead of hardcoding @arbitrum/usdc. The conditional construction properly handles optional parameters.

However, ensure the URL format matches the expected pattern in downstream components.

src/components/Global/RouteExpiryTimer/index.tsx (3)

35-58: Robust timer calculation with proper error handling.

The calculateTimeRemaining function correctly:

  • Handles invalid expiry times with warning logs
  • Converts Unix timestamp to milliseconds
  • Returns null for invalid input rather than throwing

The logic properly calculates minutes and seconds from the time difference.

60-109: Well-structured useEffect with proper cleanup and state management.

The timer implementation correctly:

  • Clears state when loading or no expiry
  • Uses proper interval cleanup in the return function
  • Handles expired and near-expiry callbacks appropriately
  • Includes all necessary dependencies

The conditional logic for disableRefetch prevents unwanted callbacks during transaction signing.

181-181: No action needed: animate-pulse-strong is defined
The pulse-strong key and its corresponding animate-pulse-strong utility are already declared under animation in tailwind.config.js, so the class will be available at runtime.

src/components/Payment/PaymentForm/index.tsx (4)

44-45: Excellent documentation improvement for the renamed prop.

The new name isDirectUsdPayment with explicit documentation clarifies that this flag indicates a direct USD payment flow that bypasses token conversion, which is much clearer than the previous isDirectPay.

67-67: Consistent prop renaming in component signature.

The parameter name is updated to match the interface change.

396-396: Correct usage of renamed prop in transaction type logic.

The conditional logic properly uses the renamed isDirectUsdPayment flag to set the transaction type to 'DIRECT_SEND'.

593-593: Consistent conditional rendering updates.

Both conditionals correctly use the renamed prop for controlling UI element visibility - the disconnect wallet button and file upload input respectively.

Also applies to: 656-656

src/app/actions/tokens.ts (6)

7-9: New imports support the gas estimation functionality.

The additional imports (NATIVE_TOKEN_ADDRESS, isStableCoin, formatUnits, Hex) are properly used in the new gas estimation functions.

80-80: Simplified decimals extraction improves reliability.

Removing the fallback to json.data.decimals is correct since the contract-specific decimals from the matching chain should be more reliable.

90-90: Enhanced stablecoin detection combines symbol and price checks.

The improved condition uses both isStableCoin (symbol-based) and estimateIfIsStableCoinFromPrice (price-based) detection, providing better coverage for stablecoin identification.

151-161: Well-designed gas price caching with appropriate TTL.

The 2-minute cache for gas prices strikes a good balance between performance and data freshness. Gas prices can fluctuate, so this shorter cache duration is appropriate.

166-180: Gas estimate caching with longer TTL is reasonable.

The 5-minute cache for gas estimates is appropriate since transaction patterns are more stable than gas prices. The function properly handles the transaction parameters.

185-216: Robust USD cost estimation with proper error handling.

The function correctly:

  • Runs API calls in parallel for better performance
  • Handles BigInt arithmetic properly for gas calculations
  • Provides a conservative fallback estimate (0.01) on errors
  • Uses proper decimal formatting with native token price

The error handling ensures the UI remains functional even when estimation fails.

src/components/Global/PeanutActionDetailsCard/index.tsx (3)

34-41: Well-designed timer props with clear naming and documentation.

The timer-related props are appropriately named and provide comprehensive control over the timer behavior:

  • showTimer for conditional rendering
  • Timer state props (timerExpiry, isTimerLoading, timerError)
  • Callback props for timer events
  • disableTimerRefetch for transaction signing scenarios

55-61: Sensible default values for timer props.

The default values are appropriate:

  • showTimer = false ensures timer is opt-in
  • isTimerLoading = false and disableTimerRefetch = false provide expected defaults
  • timerError = null is correct for no error state

158-203: Clean layout restructuring with proper timer integration.

The layout changes correctly:

  • Organize the avatar/bank icon and content sections
  • Place the timer logically after the attachment
  • Use conditional rendering for the timer
  • Pass all necessary props to RouteExpiryTimer

The timer placement below the attachment is appropriate and doesn't disrupt the card's visual hierarchy.

src/app/(mobile-ui)/withdraw/crypto/page.tsx (1)

59-71: Well-structured error handling consolidation

The introduction of setError and clearErrors helper functions provides a clean, consistent approach to error management across the component.

src/components/Payment/Views/Confirm.payment.view.tsx (1)

333-338: Fix incorrect cross-chain payment detection logic

The logic for detecting cross-chain payments when not using Peanut Wallet appears to be inverted. It currently checks if token addresses ARE equal AND chains are different, but it should check if addresses are NOT equal OR chains are different.

Apply this diff to fix the logic:

-            return (
-                areEvmAddressesEqual(chargeDetails.tokenAddress, selectedTokenData.address) &&
-                chargeDetails.chainId !== selectedChainID
-            )
+            return (
+                !areEvmAddressesEqual(chargeDetails.tokenAddress, selectedTokenData.address) ||
+                chargeDetails.chainId !== selectedChainID
+            )

  • Dynamic tolerances based on USD value
  • Limited iterations to prevent excessive API calls
  • Careful handling of large numbers to avoid precision issues
src/hooks/usePaymentInitiator.ts (8)

25-34: Import changes align with the refactored architecture.

The new imports for cross-chain routing service and fee estimation are appropriate for the updated transaction preparation logic.

68-68: Addition of sendMoney from wallet hook is appropriate.

The new wallet method aligns with the simplified payment handling for direct token transfers.

94-94: New state variable for cross-chain route management.

The xChainRoute state appropriately stores route information from the external routing service.

128-128: Proper state cleanup for route information.

Resetting xChainRoute when dependencies change prevents stale route data.

163-188: Well-structured function signature expansion with proper defaults and validation.

The optional parameters provide flexibility for different payment flows while maintaining backward compatibility through sensible defaults.

251-260: Appropriate fee estimation for non-cross-chain transactions.

The addition of gas cost estimation ensures consistent fee information across both cross-chain and same-chain transaction flows.

444-506: Well-refactored Peanut Wallet payment handling with clear execution paths.

The simplified logic with three distinct paths (cross-chain, single transaction, direct transfer) improves code clarity and aligns with the new wallet interaction patterns.

747-755: Return values properly expose new route and gas cost information.

The additions allow consuming components to access cross-chain route details and gas cost estimates.

🛠️ Refactor suggestion

Add fallback handling for the environment variable.

The SQUID_API_URL constant now depends on process.env.SQUID_API_URL, which could be undefined at runtime. Consider adding a fallback value or explicit type assertion to prevent potential undefined issues.

-export const SQUID_API_URL = process.env.SQUID_API_URL
+export const SQUID_API_URL = process.env.SQUID_API_URL || 'https://apiplus.squidrouter.com/v2'

Alternatively, if the environment variable is required:

In src/constants/general.consts.ts at line 10, the SQUID_API_URL constant is
assigned directly from process.env.SQUID_API_URL, which may be undefined at
runtime. To fix this, add a fallback default URL string or throw an explicit

Remove or adjust console statements for production

Multiple console statements are present that should be removed or converted to debug-level logging.

Remove or convert to appropriate logging:

-    console.info('findOptimalFromAmount', { params, targetToAmount, toTokenPrice, targetUsd })
+ // Debug logging if needed: logger.debug('findOptimalFromAmount', { params, targetToAmount, toTokenPrice, targetUsd })
-            console.log('fromAmount', midPoint)
-            console.log('receivedAmount', receivedAmount)
-            console.log('targetToAmount', targetToAmount)
+ // Debug logging if needed
-    console.info('getRoute', { from, to }, amount)
+    // logger.debug('getRoute', { from, to, amount })
-    console.info('xChainRoute', xChainRoute)
-    console.info('xChainRoute created with expiry:', route.transactionRequest.expiry)
+    // logger.debug('xChainRoute created', { expiry: route.transactionRequest.expiry })

🛠️ Refactor suggestion

Improve error handling for allowance check failure

When the allowance check fails, the code continues without adding an approval transaction. This could lead to failed swap transactions if approval is actually required.

Consider either throwing the error or adding an approval transaction as a precaution:

         } catch (error) {
             console.error('Error checking allowance:', error)
- // Continue without approval transaction if there's an error
+ // Add approval transaction as a precaution when check fails
+            const approveTransaction = createApproveTransaction(
+                from.tokenAddress,
+                route.transactionRequest.target,
+                BigInt(route.estimate.fromAmount)
+            )
+            transactions.push({
+                ...approveTransaction,
+                feeOptions: {
+                    gasLimit: route.transactionRequest.gasLimit,
+                    maxFeePerGas: route.transactionRequest.maxFeePerGas,
+                    maxPriorityFeePerGas: route.transactionRequest.maxPriorityFeePerGas,
+                    gasPrice: route.transactionRequest.gasPrice,
+                },
+            })
         }

Alternatively, throw the error to let the caller handle it:

         } catch (error) {
             console.error('Error checking allowance:', error)
- // Continue without approval transaction if there's an error
+ throw new Error(`Failed to check token allowance: ${error.message}`)
         }

In src/services/swap.ts around lines 520 to 523, the current error handling for
allowance check failure only logs the error and continues, which risks failed
swaps if approval is needed. To fix this, either throw the caught error to
propagate it to the caller for handling or add a fallback approval transaction
as a precaution before proceeding. Choose one approach to ensure the swap
process does not silently fail due to missing approval.

🧩 Analysis chain

Verify slippage calculation formula.

The current formula Number(xChainRoute.fromAmount) / Number(chargeDetails.tokenAmount) - 1 may not correctly represent slippage percentage. When fromAmount > tokenAmount, this gives a positive value, but that represents negative slippage (user pays more than they receive).

Consider using: (Number(chargeDetails.tokenAmount) - Number(xChainRoute.fromAmount)) / Number(chargeDetails.tokenAmount)

🌐 Web query:

What is the correct formula to calculate slippage percentage in cross-chain swaps when comparing the input amount to the expected output amount?

💡 Result:

The correct formula to calculate slippage percentage in cross-chain swaps—when comparing the input amount to the expected output amount—is:

[
\text{Slippage (%)} = \left( \frac{\text{Expected Output} - \text{Actual Output}}{\text{Expected Output}} \right) \times 100
]

  • Expected Output: The amount of tokens you were quoted to receive at the time you initiated the swap.
  • Actual Output: The amount of tokens you actually received when the swap was completed.

Example Calculation:
If you expected to receive 2,000 USDT but actually received 1,990 USDT:

[
\text{Slippage (%)} = \left( \frac{2000 - 1990}{2000} \right) \times 100 = 0.5%
]

This formula is verified in industry documentation and tutorials: it’s consistent with the examples and definitions provided by DeFi platforms, including how DEXs display the minimum received based on slippage settings[2][5][7][9].

Key Points:

  • Slippage is always calculated as a percentage of the expected output, not the input or total swap value[2][5][9].
  • Setting a slippage tolerance defines the maximum acceptable deviation (in percent) from your quoted output—if the actual output falls below this threshold, the transaction typically fails[2][5][9].
  • The same concept applies to both on-chain and cross-chain swaps[1][5].

Summary Table

Step Formula
Calculate slippage (\frac{\text{Expected Output} - \text{Actual Output}}{\text{Expected Output}} \times 100)
Compare to tolerance If slippage % > slippage tolerance %, the swap fails

This is the standard approach used by DEXs and cross-chain aggregators across the industry[2][5][9].

Use the industry-standard slippage formula

The current calculation on line 224 of src/hooks/usePaymentInitiator.ts

const slippagePercentage = Number(xChainRoute.fromAmount) / Number(chargeDetails.tokenAmount) - 1

yields a negative value when you receive fewer tokens than expected, which inverts the meaning of slippage. Instead, compute slippage as:

const slippagePercentage =
  (Number(chargeDetails.tokenAmount) - Number(xChainRoute.fromAmount))
  / Number(chargeDetails.tokenAmount)

This reflects
(Expected – Actual) / Expected,
i.e. the percentage deviation below your quoted amount.

In src/hooks/usePaymentInitiator.ts at line 224, the slippage calculation
currently inverts the meaning by producing negative values when fewer tokens are
received. Replace the formula with the industry-standard one: calculate slippage
as (Expected - Actual) / Expected, specifically
(Number(chargeDetails.tokenAmount) - Number(xChainRoute.fromAmount)) divided by
Number(chargeDetails.tokenAmount), to correctly represent the percentage
deviation below the quoted amount.
