Just ran into this today trying to build the site: nodegit/nodegit#1490

Not much that can be done until they fix it, but wanted to document it here in case someone else runs into trouble. I think the only way around it would be to change your node version (ouch) or get set up with nvm.

I ran into this as well and downgrading node to version 8 made it work for me.
Nodegit has pre-built versions available for Node 8 😃
