This is useful if the project is included via add_subdirectory from within a parent build, rather than a standalone build.
This defines the architecture other, which attempts to build without any assembler or c intrinsics: only pure c, which should be compatible. This isn't designed to be fast; rather it lets you run a build on a development machine.
