Remove unnecessary unit binding

It appears that the unit binding is not necessary at this time. However, I am unsure of its importance in the past. Please let me know if it is unsafe to remove.

As far as I know, there are different ways to do a static assert in rust:

• inline_const (this PR)
• and the const block can be bound to _ (before this PR)
• const_wildcard (as the code pointed out by @klensy)

Are there any guidelines about choosing between them?
