If the run fails, it should report that and return a non-zero exit
status. The simplest way to do that is with run(..., check=True),
which raises a CalledProcessError.

Hmm, I guess run can also take a check=True -- happy to use that instead if you like.

I usually use check, didn't know about the method. But it should behave the same.

Feel free to r=me with or without changing to check.
