possible memory leak trying to unpack LZ4

i try to unpack the stock firmware file of a Galaxy A22, all goes well until it gets to decompressing super.img.lz4, then it starts using all the RAM and freezes the computer

A memory leak happens when after executing a piece of software allocated memory isn't freed up, are you able to find out what uses all those resources?

increase your swap space, I was able to do it with 34gb, but you may be able to get away with 16gb
