This isn't possible at the moment. We'd need access to the return type of an @Bean method and MethodMetadata doesn't expose it. It is available on StandardMethodMetadata but we'll almost always be dealing with the ASM-based MethodMetadataReadingVisitor which doesn't provide any access to the return type.

A change has been made in Spring 4.2 so this is now possible.
