sqlcipher encrypt but does not decrypt

Hi ,

I have used sqlcipher successfully in one of my apps , Now am trying to use it a gain in my new app ... I've done every thing I ad done before ,, the issue now that it is not decrypting after encrypting using the same key and the same procedure I've done before!!! but it is not working now ..

actually I've updated the Xcode 4.1 to Xcode 4.3 and the OS X from Lion 10.7 to 10.7.3 ..

also am using sqlcipher v2 .and i followed the tutorial ,, \ I am using dynamic linking

Hi Moath,

This really isn't enough information to troubleshoot the problem. Are you trying to open a new database? Or open a version 1.0 database with Sqlcipher 2.0?

Sorry For that .... am using a new database version 2 and sqlcipher 2.0
there is no error given from the compiler or issues ...the one different is that I updated Xcode and OSX...
I added the flags to the app and the header search paths just as before and as supposed ... am using the new apple compiler and I tried the llvm gcc 4.2 and it did not work ...
The architecture set as the tutorial suggest !!

actually am little confused cuz it works on the last application(the same database) ...

here is the code am using to open the database

if(sqlite3_open([_dbPath UTF8String],&database)==SQLITE_OK)

{  

   sqlite3_exec(database, "PRAGMA key = 'secret'", NULL, NULL, NULL);    

   NSLog(@"connection to the database,,opened ..  " );

}

else
NSLog(@"connection failed");

hay again ...

For some reason now it worked I created an encrypted database again and the only change I did is the naming
I used to create databases with the "attached database method" without sqlite suffix and it used to be working ..

now i did this
attach database 'enryptedDic.sqlite' as e key'secret';
instead of
attach database 'enryptedDic' as e key'secret';
and then it worked ...I dunno why ..but thanx god it worked .

Sounds good glad you got it working. In the future you should capture the return value of sqlite3_open, sqlite3_exec and probably grab the contents of sqlite3_errmsg if there is an error. It will help track down the issue.
