The await-async-query doesn't supports the Promise syntax yet. For example:

test("an example", async () => {
  // set up
  const myButton = findByText(/submit/i)
  myButton.then(btn => ...)
})

Using the promise syntax is not that common but it doesn't cost much to support it.
