To fix the issue with the sidebar, I just went to the theme GitHub repo, and updated our template to match the source code: https://github.com/pydata/pydata-sphinx-theme/blob/main/src/pydata_sphinx_theme/theme/pydata_sphinx_theme/components/sidebar-nav-bs.html |

I was browsing commonwl.org and the user guide today, and noticed that the fonts were very different. I find both fonts look OK, but maybe having the two sites looking similar would be a good idea?
I will see if I can add an extra commit to fix the sidebar checkbox issue #244
